- Since 1999 I have programmed the 'Zydeco Trail Ride' on WPFW 89.3 FM in the Nation's Capital. For five years I programmed 'The Satellite Trail Ride' featuring zydeco and Cajun music for XM Satellite Radio. I hail from Prairie View, Texas where zydeco is an integral part of the trail ride culture of both Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

ReplyDeleteLove your show. I've been a big fan of NOLA for years. Went to my first Jazz Fest in '90, and have been back several times, last time was in '06 after Katrina. Started going as a single, now I bring the whole family. I'll be there at the Fest this year wearing your shirt. While I love NOLA and been there several times I didn't really appreciate Zydeco until I heard your show. Can you help a newbie? What would be your essential Zydeco list? Can you post it? Can't wait for the podcast.
